On August 6, Turner Brothers joined Erland Construction in welcoming 15 educators and academic leaders through the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) BuildingAdvancement Externship (BAE) program, which connects educators with career pathways in architecture, engineering, and construction.
Nick Rucky represented Turner Brothers, walking the group through the many careers behind every concrete project, from estimators and engineers to operators, finishers, and foremen. He explained how Turner Brothers builds long-term careers from within through hands-on training and mentorship, and shared his own path from Wentworth Institute of Technology to three decades in the industry.
His message to educators: construction offers meaningful, well-paying careers through many pathways, and students benefit from exploring the skilled trades early.
