We are seeking a skilled Carpenter specializing in the assembly and installation of structural forming systems. In this role, you will be the lead on building the “skeleton” of the project. Your expertise will be used to erect complex formwork, prep tilt-up panels, and ensure the structural integrity of post-tensioned decks.

If you have a sharp eye for detail, a mastery of power tools, and experience with industrial forming systems, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Formwork: Layout, assemble, and plumb vertical and horizontal forming systems (e.g., PERI, Symons).
  • Tilt-Up Construction: Build and detail edge forms for tilt-up panels, including the installation of reveals, block-outs, and embed plates.
  • Deck Systems: Construct shoring and decking for post-tensioned (PT) slabs, ensuring all supports are secure and meet engineered load requirements.
  • Blueprint Execution: Read and interpret structural drawings to accurately locate bulkheads, sleeves, and architectural details.
  • Dry-In & Detailing: Ensure forms are grout-tight and properly braced to withstand the pressures of high-volume concrete pours.
  • Strip & Cycling: Oversee the safe stripping of forms and prep materials for the next cycle to maintain project momentum.

Technical Requirements

  • Carpentry Skills: Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and modular forms with high precision.
  • System Knowledge: Hands-on experience with modern gang-forming, handset forms, and shoring towers.
  • Math Proficiency: Ability to calculate offsets, elevations, and layout dimensions quickly in the field.
  • Tool Mastery: Expert use of circular saws, hammer drills, laser levels, and impact drivers.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in structural concrete carpentry or formwork.
  • Physical Ability: Must be comfortable working at heights, climbing scaffolding, and lifting heavy formwork components.
  • Commitment to Quality: A “do it right the first time” attitude to prevent costly structural blowouts or layout errors.
  • Safety: Familiarity with fall protection protocols and OSHA site safety standards.
