We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Concrete Construction Foreman to lead our field crews and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality concrete projects. If you have a “lead by example” mentality, a deep understanding of concrete formwork, tilt-up, and post-tensioned decks and the ability to keep a site running like a well-oiled machine, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
As the Foreman, you are the bridge between the blueprints and the finished product. Your primary duties include:
- Crew Leadership: Direct daily activities for crew leads, carpenters, and laborers; manage schedules, task assignments, and on-site performance.
- Technical Oversight: Supervise all phases of concrete work, including site prep, forming, rebar placement, and concrete placing.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Read and interpret structural drawings and specifications to ensure layout and elevations are 100% accurate.
- Quality Control: Maintain strict adherence to project specs and industry standards; troubleshoot issues like slump consistency or curing conditions in real-time.
- Safety Management: Enforce OSHA standards and company safety protocols; conduct “toolbox talk” safety meetings and ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Logistics & Coordination: Coordinate material deliveries (ready-mix, rebar, forms).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in concrete construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or “lead” role.
- Forming Systems: Proficiency with major forming brands (e.g., PERI, Doka, Symons, or similar) for vertical and horizontal applications.
- Blueprint Mastery: Ability to navigate complex structural and shop drawings, identifying conflicts in PT or rebar congested areas before they become field issues.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in outdoor environments, lift up to 50 lbs, and remain active on your feet for long shifts.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license is required. OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification and ACI Finishing certification are highly preferred.
